HKBIO has hosted its Inauguration Ceremony on Thursday, June 3, 2010, inviting leaders and representatives from the Government of HKSAR, industry, academia and commercial sector to join. The inauguration has officially marked HKBIO's establishment and our continuous support in the Government's promotion of the development of the six key industries in Hong Kong.

May 26 , 2010

HKBIO received Run Gui ZHOU, the assistant commissioner of Jiangxi Province Fuzhou China Merchants Steamship Company and its delegation at the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks (HKSTP) on May 26, 2010. The event provides a platform for the exchange of the delegation and our members of the latest developments in biotechnology and to explore the cooperation opportunities between Fuzhou and Hong Kong, and was followed by a tour around Science Park and its Biotech Center. HKBIO’s Executive Vice President Dr. Terence LAU, Council Member Dr. Bernard CHAN, and HKSTP representative Mr. Richard LAM took the lead in this event.

May 19 - May 20 , 2010

HKBIO co-hosted a Networking Dinner with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) to receive a Japanese Biotech Delegation on May 20, 2010 with HKBIO’s Chairman Professor Albert YU chaired at the event. The delegation was jointly organized by HKTDC and the Nagahama Bio Incubation Center of Japan, comprising 10 Japanese biotech research institutes and enterprises. The dinner offered a platform for delegates and industry representatives from Hong Kong to explore collaboration opportunities. A briefing to the Delegation was also provided by HKBIO’s Executive Vice Chairman Dr. Terence LAU to introduce Hong Kong’s current and future biotechnology developments.

 

May 14 , 2010

The Central Government strongly supports the "Hong Kong-Guangdong Cooperation Framework Agreement" co-signed by Guangdong and Hong Kong, which is incorporated into the Nation’s 12-5 Plan. Although the agreement included initiaitves in manufacturing and innovative technology, it is short of details. QIN Yong, Deputy Director at the Development Planning Division of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, was invited as keynote speaker to share how technology industries in Guangdong and Hong Kong could enhance cooperation under relevant policies; experts and government officers from Guangdong Province and Shenzhen are also invited to share their experience and insights. HKBIO Chairman Professor Albert YU shared with the audience on the latest developments in biotechnology, and how the biotech industry could grasp such opportunities and enhance their involvements.

HKBIO is glad to invite you to the captioned afternoon seminar co-organized with the Hong Kong Institute of Patent Agents (HIPA) and the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks (HKSTP). FibroGen will share its experiences from inception to establishing a valuable worldwide patent portfolio.
