With an aim to connect all stakeholders, facilitate collaboration and catalyse new ideas and opportunities, APAC Innovation Summit, the flagship event of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, adopts a thematic approach covering 5 major technology areas with a series of events spreading over Year 2015-2016. The "Robotics" series in June gathered a panel of world-renowned experts to share on the robotics technology trend and its applications in homecare, edutainment, industrial automation and medical field. The 2-day event also featured a mini-exhibition to showcase the latest innovations from academia, research community and industry.

The world's largest biotechnology gathering, the BIO 2015 allows participants to experience powerful business partnering, benefit from invaluable education sessions and have the chance to network with 15,000 of the industry professionals. BIO 2015 Exhibition allows exhibitors to reach high-level executives and influential decision makers who come to BIO to discover new players in the industry, form partnerships and evaluate emerging technologies. The 2015 BIO Exhibition will feature more than 1,700 exhibitors and approximately 160,000 square feet. The exhibition also includes 60+ states, regional and country pavilions who in turn host many companies from their regions. In 2015 the BIO Exhibition hosted thousands of organizations including the leading biotech companies, top 25 pharma companies, top 20 CROs and CMOs, more than 300 academic institutions including the major research labs and government agencies and the leading consultants and service companies.

HKTDC SmartHK, Jinan, China

May 27-28, 2015

HKBIO served as a supporting organization of the SmartHK held from May 27 - 28 2015 in Jinan, Shandong Province. Shandong province's GDP ranked the third in China and it has been also the second largest consumer market in China which accounts for 9.3% of the national total. As a key driver of the national industrial output and economic advancement, Shandong enterprises were keen on "Transform & Upgrade" and "Going out", such momentum poses bountiful opportunities for Hong Kong service providers to tap the business opportunities in Northern China region.

Following the success of the previous editions, SmartHK continued to promote the excellence of Hong Kong's services and technology sectors through exhibition, CEO Forum, thematic seminars as well as a series of business matching and networking activities. Mainland enterprises got more insight through these events to learn how Hong Kong services could help them on the process of industry upgrading and innovation.

Asia Biotech Invest 2015

May 19-21, 2015

The Asia Biotech Invest is Hong Kong's life science investment showcase where biotech and medtech companies present their company and current project pipeline to an audience of Hong Kong, China based investors which include PE, Big Pharma, institutional investors, asset managers, angel, and VC. Last year, the event welcomed 222 attendees, 58% of which were from the investor side, for 2015. The Asia Biotech Invest was in its 3rd year running and was part of the 'Biotech Invest' series of events co-organized by AusBiotech and Beacon Events Hong Kong.

The programme for this year focused on 5 key themes:

· Global Aging Population – and its effect on the healthcare spending
· New Technologies allowing for better, more effective treatments
· The impact of Emerging markets expanding their healthcare systems.
· The growing prevalence of life style diseases and their related health impacts
· The high level of merger and acquisition activity currently happening in the market place
